Extensive, Enriching Options for Fostering Exceptional Talent

Nurturing one's talents and abilities is crucial for developing confidence and creativity, qualities that ultimately lead to success in the 21st century. Certain extracurriculars, such as sports, are important for improving one's physical, mental and emotional wellbeing too.

A wide variety of academic, sports and arts clubs are embedded in our school's curriculum, with expert tutelage professionals, and students may choose to gain specialised skills by participating in enriching, modern club options. Beyond the classroom, children of all ages and abilities take part in enriching off-campus visits, specialist coaching and workshops, and other co-curricular activities.

With access to extensive and varied extracurriculars, students can elevate their skills and abilities beyond traditional academia, becoming confident, multi-skilled learners who flourish across disciplines.

Our stimulating after-school activities promote growth and cultivate our learners’ unique interests. Specialist activities are run by professional, experienced teachers or coaches.

Our club offering is demand-based and may differ year by year. There is normally a wide variety of clubs to choose from, catering to students with a range of interests. These include Judo, Dance, Football, Athletics, Lego Robotics Coding, Model United Nations, Drama, Arts & Crafts and musical instruments.

Our wide range of extracurricular sports and wellness clubs includes both team sports—such as football and volleyball—and individual activities like judo, skiing, cycling, and dance. Younger students can participate in age-appropriate activities through the PYP Sports Club, while older students in the MYP and DP enjoy more advanced and varied options through their dedicated Sports Club. Additional offerings such as Introduction to Sport, Gioca Judo, GiocoYoga, and mindfulness sessions provide further opportunities for students to explore movement, focus, and self-awareness in a supportive and engaging environment. This broad after-school programme reflects International School of Bergamo’s commitment to holistic education, ensuring every student can find activities that inspire, challenge, and enrich their school experience.

Città dello Sport is an integral part of our sports programme. A five-minute walk from our campus, this state-of-the-art sports centre offers a range of athletic facilities and cutting-edge resources, which our students use for PHE classes and special events such as Sports Day. Students can engage in wall climbing and athletics as well as rugby and padel.

The Drama Club offers a space for self-expression through theatre, building confidence and collaboration skills, while Robotics and Junior FLL (First Lego League) spark curiosity and problem-solving through design and technology. Academic Clubs

Academic International School of Bergamo also offers a wide range of after-school activities designed to support academic growth, global awareness, and student leadership. Language enrichment opportunities include preparation courses for internationally recognised language certifications such as the DELF (French) and DELE (Spanish), as well as Chinese language classes for beginners and continuing learners. To support students in their daily studies, the Homework Club provides a structured environment for completing assignments with guidance as needed.

Students in the secondary school benefit from subject-specific academic clinics, offering targeted support in areas such as Mathematics and Language. A Reading Club encourages a love of literature and reflective discussion in a relaxed setting, helping to build both literacy skills and a passion for books. For those interested in global issues and diplomacy, Model United Nations (MUN) offers a platform to engage in debate, research, and international collaboration. Leadership is also encouraged through the Student Council, which meets regularly during lunch to give students a voice in school life and foster a sense of responsibility and community engagement. These clubs further reflect International School of Bergamo’s holistic approach to education, encouraging students to grow intellectually, socially, and personally beyond the classroom.

Model United Nations

At International School of Bergamo, Model United Nations (MUN) is offered as an enriching after-school club for students interested in global issues, diplomacy, and international relations. MUN simulates the structure and function of the United Nations, where students take on the roles of delegates representing different countries and engage in formal debates on real-world topics such as climate change, human rights, global health, and peacekeeping. Through research, public speaking, negotiation, and resolution writing, students develop critical skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. MUN fosters global awareness, intercultural understanding, and confidence in expressing ideas—skills that align strongly with the IB Learner Profile. Students also have the opportunity to participate in local or international MUN conferences, where they can interact with peers from other schools in a professional and inspiring setting.

At International School of Bergamo , students are encouraged to make a meaningful impact on their local and global communities through a wide range of service and volunteer opportunities that are an integral part of the school’s ethos and the IB curriculum. Service activities take place both within and beyond the school. In school, students support their peers by mentoring younger learners through academic clinics in Mathematics and Languages, helping to build a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Beyond the classroom, International School of Bergamo students actively engage with the wider community, partnering with local organisations such as the Italian Down Syndrome Association and volunteering to teach English in local schools. Students also contribute to the success of major school events, including International Day, where they assist parents and teachers in planning and running cultural activities and sports tournaments. Additionally, International School of Bergamo students show strong social awareness by participating in fundraising initiatives for important causes, including Movember, Red Day, and campaigns in support of women’s associations. Student Council alla International School of Bergamo

Student Council

At International School of Bergamo, student voice is a key part of school life, and the Student Council provides a structured platform for students to actively participate in shaping their school community. Both in the Primary and Secondary School, Student Council representatives are elected by their peers and meet regularly to share ideas, discuss school initiatives, and propose improvements to enhance student life. Through this leadership experience, students learn the importance of responsibility, collaboration, and respectful communication. In Primary, the focus is on building confidence, teamwork, and a sense of belonging, while in Secondary, students take on greater responsibilities—including helping to organise school events, promoting sustainability initiatives, and representing the student body in dialogue with staff. Whether planning spirit days, supporting service projects, or contributing to school-wide decisions, International School of Bergamo Student Council members play an active role in creating a positive, inclusive, and student-centred school culture.

Career e University Counselling alla International School of Bergamo"

ISBestFit: Career & Education Counselling

As part of the ISBestFit programme, International School of Bergamo is committed to supporting students in discovering and preparing for the educational and career pathways that best align with their strengths, interests, and aspirations. Throughout the school year, International School of Bergamo students attend a range of university fairs with representatives from international and Italian universities to be informed about about programmes, admissions and requirements. These events provide students and families with valuable insights into higher education options worldwide. In addition, the programme features talks and workshops led by guest speakers from the local and international community, including professionals, entrepreneurs, academics, and alumni. These sessions give students the chance to explore a variety of career paths, learn from real-world experiences, and ask questions that help shape their own future goals. Through these opportunities, ISBestFit empowers students to make informed, confident decisions about life after International School of Bergamo.

School Trips

Teaching and learning outside the school empower and encourage our students to learn and understand the real world, become lifelong learners, and be responsible towards themselves, other people and the environment. To support development in these areas, we host field trips that mirror the content of the core teaching programme and offer regular enrichment in all year groups.

Around 5-6 school trips per class take place yearly, including daily and residential trips in upper grades. The destinations vary by year group and the specific topic being covered; however, learners typically visit places of interest, such as museums, company plants, scientific laboratories, multimedia companies, art galleries, farms and institutional organisms.
