Our Innovative IB Curriculum

The curriculum at International School of Bergamo follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. We are an IB-authorized continuum school, meaning that we are officially authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer PYP, MYP, DP.  

IS Bergamo offers the following IB programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP); Middle Years Programme (MYP); and Diploma Programme (DP). These programmes are internationally recognised for their highly effective, innovative approach to learning as well as for being of exceptional quality. As part of our international school system, teachers apply inquiry-driven strategies to engage and stimulate students at each stage of their schooling.

The IB Learner Profile

The IB Learner Profile is at the heart of this common framework. It is a clear and concise statement of the aims and values of the IB and embodies what the IB means by "international-mindedness". According to this profile, the IB nurtures learners who are: inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective. This is not only a great set of values to grow a citizen of the world, but also to create an environment that fosters learning at a deep and involving level.

 

Our History

2011

Our school is founded by Chiara Traversi and Guia Ghidoli with the clear intention of becoming an IB Continuum School.

2013

International School of Bergamo becomes an IB World School and begins offering the PYP, extending the IB programme to the primary school years.

2018

International School of Bergamo joins Inspired Education, a leading group of premium schools offering best-in-class private education with a focus on academic excellence and holistic development.

2019

The MYP pathway is introduced at International School of Bergamo to extend IB learning to the middle school years.

2020

After introducing the Diploma Programme (DP), International School of Bergamo becomes an official IB Continuum School.

2023

The first class of International School of Bergamo students graduate from the IB Diploma Programme.
